Happy 19th Birthday, Kendall!

My sweet little Kendall is 19 today! Some may wonder why I would refer to Kendall as "little" being that she is 5'10". Well, once upon a time, she was tiny. She was my smallest baby at 6 lbs. 7 oz. I loved her size because she stayed little much longer than the rest of them did. This was her at one year old. (Before my kids start asking me what in the hec she was wearing, those clown type of outfits were the baby style of the day and they were adorable. I see now that she kind of looks like a pink, ruffly Oompa Loompa but back then it was precious!)

If anyone knows Kendall well, they know that she likes to compliment herself. This is a trait I think she learned from her sister, Kristy. They both have the tendency to say things like "Come see how good I look in this outfit!" or "Hey, doesn't my hair look fantastic today!" To which I usually reply... "I hope you don't say stuff like that in front of your friends." Now, I'm not an expert on the exact rules of complimenting but I'm pretty sure they're supposed to come from other people!

This is the look Kendall makes when she's thinking, "I look goooood!"...

And, in her defense, she was looking good that day. But, keep in mind that she also thinks that she is looking good when she is wearing stuff like this...

and this...

And here is a good hair day to be sure...

I only wish I had a picture of Kendall in her footie pajamas with the glow in the dark space ships that she wears ALL THE TIME!... in front of people!... even boys!!

Suffice it to say that Kendall has lots of reasons to feel confident because she is so awesome...

but possibly even more reasons to never leave her room as evidenced by this next picture!

Even as awesome as Kendall is she is not immune to the age old curse of getting down to Provo and feeling suddenly invisible. It is amazing to me how many beautiful, smart, incredible girls there are at BYU that are not getting asked out on a regular basis. It's crazy! I have no idea what boys are thinking these days?? So even though Kendall is pretty good at complimenting herself on occasion, I still think she deserves some serious male adoration on her birthday. So to Kendall and every other BYU co-ed that might be in need of a compliment, here is a little something I put together for Kendall's birthday...

(I'm just kidding. I had nothing to do with the following lip synch but I wish I could take credit for it because I think it's AWESOME! This video was made by a young men's group in Arizona in response to President Monson's talk telling the men in the church that every girl deserves to be told she's beautiful. Coincidentally, I do recognize one of the boys in the video whose parents we know. I hear there are more videos out there like this one. Love it.)

Happy Birthday, Kendall! You are beautiful in so many ways!!
